Love them or loath them, (we love them) E-bikes are here to stay and for the masses, they are exactly what cycling and mountain biking have been waiting for. So we’re glad to announce that together with our partners at Cube Bikes, Ridelines now have their own fleet of Bosch equipped electric mountain bikes.

After trying to keep it under wraps and getting the deal done with various partners and local suppliers, we can finally show you our bikes. The bikes we have selected are for more than just “shredding the gnar” on the toughest of trails, but will appeal to those who want to explore more off-road as well as visitors to our beautiful area who just want to explore the valley floor.

Equally, for full on trail exploring, we can get you up to altitude for some serious views or the valley and then take to the trails for the descents too. So lets talk about the bikes we selected for our 2020 fleet.

Together with Cube bikes, we’ve selected the well equipped and supremely reliable Reaction Hybrid EXC 625.

It uses the 2020 Bosch Performance CX drive unit. The “Gen 4″ PCX motor was universally recognised as being the next big thing before it was unveiled last year and now for 2020 it has not failed to impress.

Our bikes also use the brand new intergrated Bosch Powertube 625 watt battery. E-bike batteries are typically in-between 400-500 watts, so with the lighter more streamlines PCX motor and the best battery technology, we’ve been reporting over 100km ranges from this combination. This makes battery anxiety a thing of the past.

Add to that a Hydroformed alloy frame, BOOST axle spacings Shimano SLX / XT groupset mix, 120mm air forks, hydraulic disk brakes and super grippy 2.6” Schwalbe tyres. You really are riding a “proper” mountain bike!

So what are we going to do with a pile of our own E-bikes? Well, we’ll be offering a few different E-bike experiences which we’ll be announcing over the coming weeks.

We’ll be offering guided rides around The Tweed valley. But hold on, it’s not just mountain biking right? We’ve picked the Cube reaction hardtail for it’s versatility in more than one area, not just for its’s capability on off-road terrain.

We’ll also be offering e-bike taster sessions to support Cube Bike dealers. You may wan’t to try an E-bike before you buy one. So we’ll be offering taster sessions to let people experience the bikes first hand. We’re not looking to become a hire centre as the  Tweed Valley has a good one already, but we will hire to our clients directly if they want to have some assistance during lessons or rides.
