Description
Intermediate: Singletrack Essentials.
With our Introduction to single track Course, you can get to grips with the more challenging trails you really want to ride for starting your journey into harder red graded trails.
Held on the more technical, traditional trails of Glentress (not the new flow trails) If you want our flow trails course, click HERE. This improver course is an introduction to furthering your skills if you want to ride more challenging singletrack. Think rocks, roots and flatter corners. We’ll look at ways to find grip by moving the bike underneath you and promoting a range of movement between you and your bike. We’ll help you with the thought process to identify creative lines on the trail and carrying momentum through more complex sections of joined up features.
The course will start at 9:30am and will typically run no later than 3:00pm. (5+ hours) Minimum age is 16. Parental consent is required for anyone under the age of 18.

Fantastic day with Jess imparting her knowledge to improve handling, cornering and getting down some tricky lines. The day just flew by, with time to practice the skills and where to use them, before getting to put them to the test and heading downhill. I would certainly recommend the course and Jess as an instructor, her enthusiasm, skills and trail knowledge were first class.

Great day with a small group that I did as part of a long weekend in the Tweed Valley. My first skills course, and I’ll say it’s described well along with who it’s suitable for. We learnt and practiced lots of useful skills in between riding full trails where we applied them. The learning pace was just right, and the whole group felt on the same page throughout, learning together. There was a bit less climbing involved than my typical hilly trail centre day, so I was glad to not have that sapping my energy. Although I’d always taken some interest in reading or watching how to ride better, I was pretty sure this kind of course would give a leap forward in comparison – and I was right. Now I feel more satisfied with my riding (faster is just a bonus) and safer too. Our instructor was great, and the group were all nice people who were keen on listening and learning.
