With the announcement today that Phase 1 of the Scottish Governments (ScotGov) relaxation of some “lockdown” restrictions is to proceed as planned, we’d like to clarify where Ridelines are with regards to the potential return to business.
We are making this statement having considered advice from various cycling and outdoor governing bodies, our colleagues in the industry, the latest advice from ScotGov and through our own conversations regarding the moral and ethical considerations it brings to our team as members of society and the local community.
Courses and Tuition: We will not be operating in any capacity as instructors or tutors until at least until our next review around the 18th of June. This is when when ScotGov will announce whether Phase 2 of their plan can be rolled out.
The decision not to operate is due to ongoing restrictions in ScotGovs Phase 1 plan that do not allow us to do so. ScotGov have made clear to us through Scottish Cycling that “Phase 1 is a return to exercise – not a return to sport”
Anyone with a course or appointment booked and confirmed for before this date will be personally notified on how we will proceed.
Summer Kids Camp: We will be making a statement on Summer Kids Camp at the same time as the one above. After ScotGov Phase 2 clarification (around June 18th). We will be securing advice from the same sources to help us in the way we take any decision on Kids Camp.
Leadership courses: The same applies till at least the next round of ScotGov advice. All courses are postponed until at least the 18th June.
Although we are raring to go, we are committed to making sure that we do not contribute to the further spread of Covid-19. Aside from this primary concern, we also take our responsibility to all our clients very seriously, so even after the next round of clarifying information, we are in no rush to return to “normal”. We will not compromise the safety of others, nor the quality of the experience that both your trust in us and our reputation demands.
Please be assured that when we return to delivering our courses, they will be both safe and representative the value and quality that Ridelines are known for.
If you have any specific queries or questions, please email us at enquiries@ridelines.co.uk or message us on facebook.
Thanks for your continuing support. The Ridelines team.
