Adventure Kids Camp MTB course Day 1 || KIT AND MESS ABOUT A BIT.
We’ll be based at the Mountain Bike Centre of Scotland, the home of DMBinS (Developing Mountain Biking in Scotland) We’ll look at the kit we should carry on a ride, what it does and how we should carry it. We will also get some practical time learning about how to use our gear too, including some common trailside repairs. We’ll also look at some core riding skills and make sure the group gets familiar with each other for the following days!
Adventure Kids Camp MTB course Day 2 || PLANNING AND INCIDENT MANAGEMENT.
How should we best plan a ride? Who should we tell? How do we know where we’re going? What should we do if it all goes wrong!? On day 2 the group will learn about dealing with the most common problems we face when riding alone or with friends. We’ll touch on basic first aid, route planning, map reading and how to get help should you need it.
Adventure Kids Camp MTB course Day 3 || RECAP AND RIDE!
The group will recap on last 2 days learning then head out on the ride we planned the previous day! We’ll let the kids lead and we’ll be throwing in some emergency situations for good measure. They’ll have to deal with the group being lost, a staged accident and a few other bits thrown in for good measure and fun!
